Springfield 1989 Krag bolt action rifle with bayonet. Made 1900 at Springfield Armory, with typical markings on the left side of the receiver. Boxed, "JLA/1900" cartouche on the left side of the wrist. There is an "S" carved into the right side of the wrist. Circled "P" firing proof on the bottom of the wrist. Standard length round steel barrel with pedestal blade front sight. Second type 1896 pattern rear sight adjustable to 1800 yards. Factory blued finish worn to a gray patina in most areas. Oil finished wood stock with correct trapdoor metal butt plate. Includes attached undated leather sling and metal oiler in the stock. Includes undated knife bayonet with metal scabbard. CONDITION: Metal retains little of its original finish with most areas forming a bright gray patina. Oil finished wood stock has minor dings scratches and dents. Bore is frosted with good overall rifling. Mechanically fine. Sling has wear and crazing. Bayonet is good overall. Blade has been polished and sharpened at some point. Grips are solid. Some light freckling on the handle. Metal scabbard is very good with light freckling throughout. JWA
