Smith Corona Model 03-A3 bolt action rifle. Made 1943 with proper barrel marked "SC / (Flaming Bomb) / 6-43". Typical markings on the receiver. Left side of the stock is marked "RA (crossed cannons cartouche)" followed by a boxed "FJA" inspectors cartouche. Circled "P" firing proof on the wrist. Bolt components look to be mostly unmarked. Smith Corona made trigger guard. Standard round, steel barrel with raised blade front sight and adjustable aperture rear. Original parkerized finish on the metal components. Stamped blued steel bands. Oil finished straight grip wood stock. Checkered metal trap door butt plate. Includes attached "1944" dated green canvas sling. CONDITION: Metal retains 80% of its original finish with light wear. Stock has handling marks and scratches. There is a crack in the forward part of the hand guard (looks to have been glued). Bore is frosted with good overall rifling. Muzzle reads at a 3. Mechanically fine. Sling has light wear. JWA
