Circa 1898. 29" dovetail steel barrels with 2 - 3/4" chambers. Barrels fitted with extractors, extension and matte concave wide rib with round steel front bead sight. The barrels read "J.P. SAUER & SOHN, SUHL", "DEUTSCHLAND, ENGLAND, AMERIKA". Barrels also stamped with "SPECIAL ESSEN" emblem on barrels. Sidelock action with unique cocking indicators, light scroll engraved, cross bolt locking mechanism, set disk strikers, blued engraved top lever with checkered thumb piece and checkered thumb slide safe. Double triggers are protected by a lightly scroll engraved trigger guard which bares the guns serial number of "71091". European walnut stock with nice marbling, cheekpiece, pistol grip with flat top checkering, steel grip cap and a thin serrated plastic buttplate. Splinter forend with Deeley style release and matched flat top checkering. Forend tip also with ebony tip. CONDITION: Good. Barrels retain mainly all of their blue color with a slight bit of frosting at muzzle and some handling marks with indications of use. Action is sound and tight. Ejectors are crisp. Stock and forend are good with some handling marks. CP
