Circa 1897. 30" dovetail brown Damascus steel barrels with 2 - 1/2" chambers and are nitro proofed. Barrels fitted with ejectors. Concave smooth tapered rib with extension and round steel front bead. Rib reads "CHARLES BOSWELL. MAKER 126. STRAND. LONDON . W.C.". Chokes are Improved Modified and Cylinder. Coin finished boxlock action with scroll engraving reads "CHARLES BOSWELL" on both sides just beneath water table. Blacked top lever with checkered thumb piece. Checkered safe slide with "SAFE" in gold. Action is auto-safe. Blacked double triggers with black scroll engraved trigger guard that extends through a long bottom strap with light scroll engraving. Bottom strap also with serial number "13060" engraved. Smoky reddish brown European walnut stock with English straight hand grip, point checkered grip with oval for initials on toe line is finished by a plastic serrated recoil plate. Splinter forend matched checkering and blacked Anson release. CONDITION: Very good. Barrels retain virtually all of their brown with some light handling marks. Action, triggers and ejectors are mechanically sound. Stock with some handling marks and most likely gun benefits from an early restock. Forend good with some handling marks.
