Circa 1922. A classic vintage game gun with dovetailed blacked steel 30 inch barrels fitted with 2 - 1/2" chambers, ejectors, and narrow, swamped game rib with small round front bead. Rib is engraved "F. Beesley. 2. St. James's Street. London. SW." Barrel flats are stamped with Birmingham nitro proofs. The guns serial number is engraved on bottom of left barrel. Appropriate sized case hardened boxlock action features automatic safety and double triggers. Action is engraved with 97% coverage of well cut scroll with line and scroll borders. "F. Beesley" is on scroll on each side. Blued top lever with checkered thumb, floorplate, and trigger guard are engraved with matching scroll. Serial number is on trigger guard tang. Safe slide is checkered and "SAFE" is in gold. Smoky figured and well streaked European walnut with English straight grip buttstock measures 15" over a thin brown rubber buttpad. Flat top point pattern checkering with borders at grip and a silver oval at toe line. Matching splinter ejector forend has Anson release. CONDITION: Very good. Barrels retain 95% of a nice reblack. Some small handling marks at muzzle and some rubs from use and forearm rub. Action, ejectors, and triggers are mechanically sound. Case coloring faded to a grey patina.
