Circa 1913. Made with 29 - 1/2" Krupp Fluid steel barrels, this gun has a matte, tapered, concave rib with round white front bead sight and extension for lock up. Barrels are nicely fit with ejectors, 2 - 1/2 chambers and are stamped "NITRO PROOF" on the barrel flats. Rib marked "J.P. SAUER & SON, SUHL." On top of the barrels "FLUID-STEEL KRUPP-ESSEN" is stamped. Bottom of left barrel stamped with serial number "178893". Bottom rib with remnants of barrels sling swivel. Chokes are Modified and Improved Cylinder. The boxlock grey patina action with double triggers is non auto safe and built with a Greener style cross bolt locking mechanism. Trigger guard is lightly scroll engraved and connects with short bottom tang with serial number "1738893". Boxlock action also with sideclips and cocking indicators. Long top strap with checkered slide safe and top lever with checkered thumb. Scalloped action with approximately 50% coverage and border scroll. "J.P. SAUER & SOHN, SUHL" in arch on both sides. Vintage European walnut stock with sharp checkered semi pistol grip, steel grip cap, cheekpiece, fitting for sling is finished to 14 - 5/8" over a newer brown rubber pad. Matched checkered splinter forend with Deeley styled release. CONDITION: Very good. Barrels retain 85% blue. Barrels are slightly loose. Action, ejectors and triggers are sound. Stock and forend are good with some handling wear and with recut to checkering. CP
