Circa 1898. Dovetail browned Damascus game gun with 28 - 5/8" barrels. Barrels are fit with 2 - 1/2" chambers, extractors, tapered, matte, flat raised rib with extension and steel front bead sight. Chokes are Improved Modified and Full. The gun's German hammer action has been adorned with scroll engraving, Greener style cross bolt locking mechanism, checkered hammers, top lever with checkered thumb piece and double triggers. Trigger guard with matched scroll engraving and extends to a long bottom strap. Gun's European walnut stock with smoke and straight grain, flat top checkering on an English straight hand grip is fitted with a swivel for sling and a steel butt plate. The slender splinter forend with matched checkering, engraved Deeley styled latch release and an ebony tip. Latch release engraved with a "1" indicating at that this gun was initially part of a pair. Iron metal also engraved. CONDITION: Good. Barrel retain a fare amount of their original brown and lock up well. Bores are bright. Action is sound. Stock with chip at bottom of toe line and handling marks. Forend with missing slight bit of edge on left near tip and handling marks. CP
