Circa 1881. A vintage game gun with 30 - 1/8" blued steel barrels with 2 - 3/4" chambers, extractors, a semi-concave raised rib with dolls head extension, and round front brass bead sight. Rib reads "W&C. SCOTT & SON ." "PATENT TRIPLEX LEVER GRIP." "THE PREMIER QUALITY" "10 CT. CASTLE STREET REGENT CIRCUS LONDON". Barrel flats read "NOT FOR BALL", 1411, 12B, older London proofs and lightly stamped "The Premier Gun". Top of rib near breech and dolls head with light floral scroll engraving. Chokes are Left: Improved Modified. Right: Modified. The aged case colored patented back action sidelock with crystal indicators and patented spindle top lever locking mechanism is adorned with light scrolls, various waterfowl game birds on its lockplates, action bottom, and a wild bearded turkey on its trigger guard bow. Bottom strap with light scrolls, castle and guns serial number "No 29335". Action is non-auto safe with the word "SAFE" engraved ahead of serrated slide. Action also built with double triggers. Action and top lever engraved with W&C Scott & Son's various patents. Behind top tang is a golden shield on top of grip. The English walnut stock with nice color and lines is fitted with a pommel (round knob) grip. Buttstock is finished with a brown "Decelerator" pad. Splinter forend with patented push release. Exterior iron metal engraved with tight scrolls and push tab is also engraved with castle and the word "patent". Interior iron metal with slightly faded darker case colors and engraved screws. Pommel grip and forend with matched flat top checkering. Gun lives in a canvas covered oak case with Webley & Scott Ltd. paper trade label. CONDITION: Fair. Barrels have been sleeved and are loose on face. Barrels with some slight handling marks and with 95% refinished blue. Action is sound although triggers feel a bit spongy. Stock with handling marks, bruises and indications of repair on top horns. Forend with repair to both left and right edges. Case in good condition with age wear and replacement trade label. CP
