1885 vintage 3rd Model Winchester Model 1873 lever action rifle, serial number 176613A. 24" round barrel chambered in .44 Winchester Center Fire (.44-40 WCF) with rifle rear sight, full length magazine tube, and blade front. 2 piece plain walnut stock and forearm complete with rifle forearm cap and rifle buttplate with storage compartment (compartment has 4 rounds of vintage Remington-UMC produced .44-40 WCF ammunition). CONDITION: Good, with virtually all of the original finish turned to a gray patina with age related pitting and handling marks throughout. Tang has a hole drilled and tapped through it, possibly for use with a tang sight. Stock and forearm are excellent with no major signs of distress and hole drilled through stock near center, the purpose of which is unknown. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand. Bore is frosted with moderate abrasion throughout and well defined rifling. TON
