3rd model saddle ring carbine serial number 26291 manufactured circa 1869 and later converted to .44 centerfire. 20" round barrel with nearly illegible 2-line Winchester address and full length magazine tube. Barrel band front sight and 2-leaf rear sight. Distinctive brass receiver with saddle ring. 2-piece plain oil finished walnut stocks with iron barrel band and brass rifle butt containing a cleaning rod compartment, rod not present. CONDITION: Good. Iron components have turned a dark brown patina with some pitting. Frame exhibits a very attractive mellow mustard patina. Stock undersized with dark oil stained appearance. A section spliced in at tang and some chipping at toe. Very good bore with a few spots of oxidation. Action cycles appropriately. BAS
