Popular in the West and Colt's first entry into the large frame double action revolver market. This blued finish example was produced in 1898 and is chambered for Colt's signature .45 Long Colt caliber. Barrel is a 5 - 1/2" replacement marked on left "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY 45" and on right with 1-line address. Blade front sight and v-notch rear frame sight. Standard 6-shot fluted cylinder, bird's head 2-piece checkered hard rubber grips, and lanyard loop. CONDITION: Good. Frame retains traces of blued finish with balance a brown patina showing older oxidation spots. Barrel exhibits similar artificially aged brown patina with slightly more factory blue. Grips worn with section of loss on left panel and crack on right. Cylinder pin release a replacement. Excellent bright bore with crisp rifling. Indexes correctly with good lock up. Would make a good shooter. BAS
