Colt's first entry into the large frame double action revolver market. This example was produced in 1891 in the cross compatible .44-40 Winchester caliber. It features a 7 - 1/2" round barrel marked "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" on left and with 1-line address on top. Blade front sight with v-notch rear sight cut into frame. Standard 6-shot fluted cylinder, birdshead butt, lanyard loop, and checkered walnut 2-piece grips. CONDITION: Good. Gun exhibits a cleaned silver/gray patina with some older corrosion spots. Grips worn with handling marks. Bore pitted but retains strong rifling. Indexes correctly. BAS
