Colt Model 1860 Army percussion revolver with holster. Made 1862. Single line New York Address on top of the barrel. "COLTS PATENT" marked on the left side of the frame. Typical Naval engagement scene engraved on the cylinder. The front grip strap is etched in block letters "S.L.HARRISON.". Small inspector letter stamps throughout, in addition to boxed cartouches on the bottom of each side of the grip. Matching serials on the barrel assembly, frame, trigger guard and butt. Round steel barrel with German silver front blade sight. Original blued finish on the metal components, with the front strap and trigger guard being brass. Oil finished walnut grip. Includes a period unmarked black leather flap holster. CONDITION: Metal retains little of its original finish with most areas being a gray/brown patina. Grip strap has some wear and tarnish. Grip has handling marks and scratches, but is very good overall. Bore has light frosting, with crisp rifling. Tight hammer and cylinder. Good timing and lockup. Nipples show signs of use, but are intact. Mechanically fine. Holster is fair with heavy wear and crazing. Stitching is loose in some areas, and there is a hole in the bottom. JWA
