Manufactured in 1901. This is the first successful double action that Colt manufactured. With a run of just 166,849 guns being manufactured from 1877 through 1909. Two line address on top of the barrel and a roll die caliber marking on the left of the barrel. Three line patent date on the left front of the receiver with the Rampant Colt Logo. Matching serial numbers on the frame, trigger guard, back strap and the back of the cylinder. The Two piece hard rubber grips have the Rampant Colt logo on them. 5/8" half moon front sight. CONDITION: The action works in both single and double action. The action locks up and indexes fine. The first two notches on the hammer are worn and don't hold but locks up in full cock. Gun retains 35% of the factory applied blue finish. The niter blue on the hammer and trigger is 70%. Hints of case color in the protected areas with the remainder of the frame turning silver. Fair bore with slight frosting in the lands and grooves. Grips show some slight wear. REW
