Colt Model 1849 pocket percussion revolver. Made 1860. 2 line New York address on the top or the barrel. Typical stage coach scene on the cylinder. "COLTS/PATENT" marked on the left side of the frame. matching serials on the frame, barrel assembly, trigger guard and butt. Octagonal barrel with brass pin front sight. Metal finishes look to be original with most areas forming a gray patina. Brass plated silver grips straps show signs of wear. Oil finished walnut grip. CONDITION: Metal retains little to none of its original finish with most areas forming a heavy grayish patina. Grips straps have wear and scratches. Grip has mild handling marks and wear. Bore is frosted with very good overall rifling. Tight hammer and cylinder. Lockup and timing are sharp as well. Nipples look to be replacements and are crisp. Mechanically operable, but the barrel wedge is loose. JWA
