Colt Single Action Army Revolver with factory letter. Made 1899, with the factory letter stating it shipped to Richards & Conover Hardware Co. on May 27, 1899. Left side of the barrel has been restamped "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER". 2 line patent address on the top of the barrel. Patent dates on the left side of the frame, followed by a circled rampant Colt Pony. Matching serials on the frame, trigger guard and butt. Round steel barrel with blade front sight and v-notch rear. 6 shot fluted cylinder. Original blued finish on the barrel, cylinder, and grip straps. Checkered hammer. Case colored frame and hammer. Factory checkered brown hard rubber grips. CONDITON: Metal retains 60% of its original finish with general wear and handling marks. Some brown patina forming on the ejector housing. Grips have light wear and handling marks. Bore is clean with sharp rifling. There is a slight ring mid way through the bore. Tight hammer and cylinder. Good lockup and timing. Mechanically fine. JWA
