Manufactured in 1897. This is the first successful double action that Colt manufactured. With a run of just 166,849 guns being manufactured from 1877 through 1909. Three line address on top of the barrel and a roll die caliber marking on the left of the barrel. Three line patent date on the left front of the receiver with the Rampant Colt Logo. There is a star on the right side rear webbing of the trigger guard. This indicates that it has been back to Colt for work. That would explain the three line barrel address. This is a Civilian New Army of 1894 barrel that more than likely the Colt factory installed. 2 piece hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt Logo with the initials EMH scratched on the inside. 5/8" half moon front sight. There is a dovetailed rear sight installed at the rear of the top strap. Gun works in both double and single action. CONDITION: Gun retains 40% of the factory reapplied blue finish. Traces of case color in the protected areas. Bright and shiny bore with sharp lands and grooves. Grips show wear. REW
