Moscow 1873, rectangular, chased and engraved in the form of a cigar box, with a flush hinged lid; together with an Austrian silver savings box, Vienna 1859, maker’s mark unclear, with an octagonal casket body chased and engraved with bands of scrolls and flower heads, each side with a cast hinged handle; the lid with an inscription in German, the base with an inscription in English. A similar savings box with a similar inscription from and to the same persons is illustrated in Neuwirth, W. Wiener Silver (vol. II), 1989, fig. 597 p. 368. First: 5 x 2 - 5/8 x 3”.
