Colt Bisley Model Single Action Army revolver. Made 1907. The factory letter accompanying this gun states it shipped to Simmons Hardware Company in June of 1907. The caliber listed on the factory letter is ".32/20" and states the barrel as 7 - 1/2". Two line patent address on the top of the barrel, with "(BISLEY MODEL)" (possibly re-stamped), marked on the left side of the barrel. Caliber is marked "38 SW". Patent dates followed by a circled rampant Colt Pony on the left side of the frame. "VP" proof on the left side of the trigger guard. Matching serials on the frame, trigger guard, and butt. Round, steel barrel with blade front sight and v-notch rear. 6 shot fluted cylinder. Factory finish has worn to bear metal in most places. Smooth face trigger and checkered hammer. Original checkered brown hard rubber grips. CONDITION: Metal retains little of its original finish with most areas being bare metal. Signs of cleaning from a brown patina, with some patina still visible on the edges. Grips have wear and handling marks. Bore is very clean overall with strong rifling. Tight hammer and cylinder. Good lockup. Mechanically fine. JWA
