Winchester Model 54 standard bolt action rifle made by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1934. Rare .22 Hornet 24" Winchester Proof Steel blued barrel with ramp style hooded front sight (missing hood), rear 22g adjustable sight (plugged), and rear Lyman 48 receiver sight. Barrel is dated "33" and stamped "CMS 22H". Barrel stamped "Winchester Proof Steel" but bottom marking indicates "Chrome Molybdenum Steel" a change that was made late in the life of the Model 54. Blued receiver with correct drilled front bridge and undrilled rear bridge. Unbent bolt with serial number of gun "42155" electropenciled on bolt and original 3-position safety. Blued solid floorplate with correct late-style sling swivels. Checkered NRA standard style stock with blued checkered Widow's Peak steel buttplate. CONDITION: 95% barrel blue with some wear on corners and some small freckles. 90%+ action blue with bolt knob showing some handling wear. Floorplate is turning a nice plum patina. Stock has been lightly cleaned with sharp checkering and some light oil added and some light handling marks. Good bore and mechanics. A hard rifle to find in this condition. DLM
