Winchester Model 70 bolt action in rare carbine form and in special order caliber of .25-35 WCF, made in 1941 by Winchester Repeating Arms Company. Blued 20" round rifled Winchester Proof Steel barrel with hooded ramp front sight, plugged rear sight and marked with 2-line address and caliber marking of "25-35 W.C.F.". Underside of barrel marked with "1", "25-35", "(triangle) 1" and dated "39". Solid handle bolt with serial number of gun "33894" electropenciled on bolt body and 3-position pre-war style safety. Black finished action with correct drilled front bridge, cartridge slot, serial numbered bolt, and 3-position wing safety. Blued quick detachable floorplate and trigger guard with blued bow-style sling swivels. Walnut checkered low comb stock with steel checkered Widow's Peak buttplate. CONDITION: 90% barrel blue with light handling marks. 90% action blue with some operating marks with bolt starting to turn plum. 90% floorplate blue with light corner and handling wear. Stock has some added spots of finish with light handling marks. Good bore and mechanics. A hard rifle to find. DLM
