Winchester Model 70 special order standard weight bolt action rifle made by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1937. Winchester Proof Steel blued barrel with hooded ramp front sight, 22G rear adjustable sight, marked on left with caliber "348 W.C.F.", and on the underside "348 (triangle) 1 36". Blued clover leaf action with factory drilled front bridge, non-drilled rear bridge with cartridge slot, and factory drilled plugged holes for Lyman 48 receiver sight. Correct solid bolt handle bolt with rifle serial number electropenciled on bolt and 3-position pre-war style safety. Walnut pre-war style low comb checkered pistol grip stock with blued bow sling swivels and Widow's Peak checkered steel buttplate. Rare gun. CONDITION: 90% barrel blue with 90% action blue. Floorplate and trigger guard have faded to a plum patina with some corner wear. Stock has some usage marks and dings with traces of original varnish and a light coat of added wax. Stock has small toe wound. Good bore and mechanics. Super hard to find rifle. DLM
