Standard configuration P.38 manufactured by Spreewerke between 1943-1945. Left side of slide is stamped "P.38 cyq" followed by the serial number. Right side of slide bears a rework sunburst stamp, followed by 3 acceptance and firing proofs. Eagle over "88" waffenamt and matching numbers are present on the frame, slide, barrel, and locking block. Frame is mounted with 8th variation Polyamid 6 injection molded black plastic grips. Magazine in unnumbered, only being marked "P38". CONDITION: Metal components retain large amounts of their original blue finish, exhibiting areas of thinning and wear mostly concentrated on the barrel and grip strap, with worn areas showing through to gray. Bore is bright, showing some oxidation and retaining good rifling throughout. Grips show few minor cosmetic handling marks and are otherwise sturdy and serviceable.
