P.08 manufactured in 1910 by DWM under contract for the German military. Receiver is stamped "1910" over the chamber, with arsenal proofs followed by an Imperial German reichsalder present on the right hand side. Imperial German Reichsadler is also present on the top of the barrel and left side of the breechblock. Matching numbers are present on the frame, locking bolt, sideplate, trigger, safety lever & bar, barrel, receiver, trigger bar, breechblock, firing pin, and toggles. Right side of frame bears a hold-open device alteration. Front grip strap exhibits a 2 - 3/4" welded repair, likely replacing a section of the front grip strap that was damaged at one point in time. This repair was masterfully done, bearing no signs of a repair having been made with the exception of some polished welding marks on the interior of the grip, which does not effect magazine operation. Front grip strap and barrel have been reblued. CONDITION: Metal components retain large amounts of their original and reapplied blue finishes, exhibiting some areas of wear overall, exhibiting areas of wear and scattered handling marks overall. Strawed components retain traces of their original finish, with the balance retaining a gray patina with spots of age related discoloration. Bore is bright, showing moderate oxidation and retaining fair to good rifling throughout. Grips show some impressions as well as some scattered nicks to the diamonds, but are otherwise sturdy and serviceable. A finely repaired Pre-World War I DWM Luger. MLW
