Bright high polish nickel finished Colt 1911A1 built to commemorate the actions in the Pacific Theater of Operations during World War II. Standard 1911A1 features with 5" barrel and .45 ACP chambering. Slide marked on left "WORLD WAR II COMMEMORATIVE/PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS" and on right with significant locations beginning with "PEARL HARBOR" and ending with "TOKYO", all surrounded with tropical foliage. Grips are 2-piece smooth wood with gold Colt medallions. Pistol is housed in the appropriate bamboo motif display case with commemorative plaque and 7 nickel finished dummy cartridges. Also accompanied by hardcover "Colt's Commemorative Edition of The American Heritage Picture History of World War II" by C. L. Sulzberger. CONDITION: Excellent. Pistol retains virtually all of its factory applied nickel finish with a few handling marks. Grips very good. Excellent bore and mechanics. Case shows a few minor surface bruises. Book in good condition. Dust jacket has fading, wear, and a tape repair towards the top of spine. BAS
