Manufactured 1918. Half moon front siught, U notch flat top rear sight. Left side of slide with 2 line 2 block patent and address information, right side with "MODEL OF 1911. U.S.ARMY" with "MODEL OF 1911" crudely struck out. "H" stamped at top of firing pin retaining plate channel. Barrel with "P H" stamped stamped perpendicular to bore on hood. Spurred checkered hammer, checkered left side only safety with thick tab, relief mill cut slide release, short 1911 grip safety, smooth flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop, long smooth milled trigger. Checkered magazine release. Truncated diamond walnut grips. Left side of dust cover with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and a barely visible "(Eagle Head) / SI6" above magazine release. Right side of frame with serial number. Magazine with "C-S" on baseplate and "S" proof on lip of plate. Crudely incised "SE / 45" on baseplate. There is some speculation that "C-S" indicates a subcontracting of magazines from Colt to Scoville. Accompanied by a cloth magazine pouch with an extra barrel (no link) marked "5" in front of lug, "PH" parallel to bore on lug and an extra unmarked full blue magazine. CONDITION: Good. Gun has seen extensive use and majority of blue has turned to a chocolate patina with some visible bluing in protected areas. Left side of frame under slide release and to rear appears to have been hit with a belt sander of some kind and is heavily polished. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bores are good with visible rifling but dark throughout. EW
