Manufactured 1943. Serrated slop front sight and square notch flat top rear sight. "P" proof stamped in front of sight oriented to read muzzle up. Left side of slide with "REMINGTON RAND INC. / SYRACUSE NEW YORK". Springfield barrel with "SP" on left side of the lug and "PX-6" heat lot stamp on chamber. Checkered slide narrow hammer, thick tab safety, slide release, short stamped trigger, and magazine release. Long 1911A1 grip safety, arched knurled mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Keyes fibre grips without reinforcing rings. Full blue magazine. Left side of frame with Atwood proof under slide release, "P" near magazine release, right side with crossed cannon cartouche, US property mark, serial number, and "M1911 A1 U.S.ARMY" stamp (depressed slightly for unknown reason). CONDITION: Very good, retaining the vast majority of the du-lite bluing finish with some normal losses from handling and storage throughout. Visible burnishing in the crossed cannon cartouche. Unusual spots of oxidation primarily towards muzzle and dust cover, perhaps as a result of placement in a holster with a wet bottom. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is excellent with strong rifling. EW
