1895 vintage Winchester Model 1894 Deluxe lever action rifle, serial number 26257. 26" special order octagon barrel chambered in .38-55 Winchester Centerfire with Lyman No. 2 tang sight, plugged rear sight dovetail, full-length magazine tube, and Lyman Hunting front sight. 2-piece Style H checkered well-figured fancy grain walnut forearm and pistol grip stock complete with Winchester gutta percha grip cap, rifle forearm cap, and rifle buttplate. Factory sling swivels at forearm cap and stock. Comes with a Buffalo Bill Historical Center letter confirming configuration and that this gun was shipped from the factory September 18, 1897, and that it was repaired and returned November 18, 1897. CONDITION: Excellent, with nearly all of the original blue finish remaining with a brown patina beginning to form over top of it and scattered handling marks throughout. Stock and forearm are excellent and strong with no major signs of distress and are beginning to darken due to age. Action works properly and is tight. Bore is heavily frosted with abrasion and visible rifling. An honest, fine condition example worthy of display. TON
