1929 vintage Winchester Model 71 Deluxe lever action rifle, serial number 15543. 24" round barrel chambered in .348 Winchester Center Fire with rifle rear sight, half length magazine tube, and ramped hooded front. 2 piece standard grain checkered walnut pistol grip stock and forearm complete with rifle forearm cap, Winchester gutta percha grip cap, sling swivels, and checkered steel buttplate. Stock is embellished with expertly carved depiction of a bear chasing after a 10 point buck over rocky terrain on right side. CONDITION: Excellent with a nearly all of the original bluing remaining with scattered light handling marks and age related pitting on left side of frame near top. Stock and forearm are excellent with evidence of use throughout but are strong with no discernable cracks. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand. Bore is dark with visible rifling. TON
