1883 vintage 3rd Model Winchester Model 1876 lever action rifle, serial number 37239. 28" octagon barrel possibly chambered in .45-60 Winchester Center Fire (barrel and cartridge elevator are unmarked) with 3 leaf rifle rear sight, full length magazine tube, and blade front. 2 piece plain walnut stock and forearm complete with crescent rifle buttplate with storage compartment (compartment is empty). CONDITION: Very good, with finish added to turn metal assemblies to an even brown patina. Stock and forearm are worn with evidence of heavy use and denting near buttplate tang but are strong with no visible cracks. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand. Bore is dark with visible rifling. TON
