Half moon front sight, U notch flat top rear sight. Left side of slide with 3 line 2 block patent and address information, with intercepting "REMINGTON UMC" in circle. Right side of slide with "MODEL OF 1911 / U.S. ARMY CALIBER .45". Barrel marked with "P" oriented to be read with muzzle up. Left side of dust cover with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY". "E" stamp on upper left of trigger guard. Frame stamped "E.E.C" and "(Eagle Head) / E28" with "E28" slightly double stamped. Right side of frame with serial number and "NO" prefix, "17" stamped on upper right of trigger guard. "E" stamped on bottom of flat smooth mainspring housing. Small parts comprise checkered spurred hammer, thick tab checkered safety, checkered slide release with relief mill cut. long smooth trigger, checkered magazine release, short 1911 grip safety. Truncated diamond walnut grips. 2 tone magazine. CONDITION: Good as partially assembled, although unclear if a field changeout or done later. Slide is very good with the majority of the blue finish and some spotting mostly visible on top of slide. Frame is good with blue finish largely browned out, with flashes visible and better blue retained in protected areas such as underside of the dust cover. Straps are essentially patina. Grip safety and mainspring housing replaced, with more bluing than straps should indicate. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is very good with strong rifling. EMW
