Manufactured 1917. Half moon front sight, U notch flat top rear sight. Left side with 2 line 2 block patent and address information, last patent date August 1913, with uncircled pony at rear. Barrel with "P H" stamped parallel to bore, with "5" on left lug and in front of lug. Top of frame with "H" and 2 "G" proofs. Left side of dust cover with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" rollmark. Left side of frame with Stewart inspection proof. Right side of frame with serial number. Checkered spurred hammer, thick tab safety with relief cut, checkered slide release with relief cut, checkered magazine release, long smooth trigger, short 1911 grip safety, smooth flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop. 2 tone magazine with "A" on lip for American Pin Co. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining virtually all of the Colt finish with some minor marks from handling and use. Some minor patina of right side of slide ahead of the cocking serrations. The legends on the left side of the slide are broken in places but careful examination of the pistol including the "H" stamp at the rear of the slide with appropriate swelling and the overall color, this is likely the result of a damaged roll die. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is excellent. EMW
