Manufactured 1914. Half moon front sight, U notch flat top rear sight. Left side of slide with 2 line 2 block patent and address information (serif font), last patent date 1913. Uncircled pony at rear. Right side with "MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY" in serif font. Barrel with "HP" stamped perpendicular to bore, "5" stamped in front of lug. "H" and "y" stamped on top of frame. Left side of frame with Penfield proof and "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" on dust cover, right side of frame with serial number. Checkered spurred hammer, thick tab safety with relief cut, checkered slide release with relief cut, long smooth trigger, checkered magazine release. Short 1911 grip safety, smooth flat mainspring housing. Truncated diamond checkered walnut grips. 2 tone magazine with lanyard loop. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining the vast majority of the Colt factory finish with some silvering on high edges and towards muzzle consistent with holster wear. Some very minor spotting to slide. Grips have a few abraded heads. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is very good with strong rifling and some frosting in grooves. EMW
