Winchester Model 1886 lever action rifle built by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1897. 22" blued round Winchester barrel in .45-70 caliber with Winchester 2 line address, fitted with Lyman Hunting brass bead blade front sight, and Lyman fine notched rear adjustable sight. Blued takedown pistol grip action with blued full magazine and plain trigger. Winchester special order uncheckered pistol grip stock with Winchester grip cap and checkered shotgun steel buttplate with added non-factory mother of pearl and horn diamond inlays with factory style hook and eye sling swivels. Matching Winchester plain walnut forearm. Cody Research confirms this rifle with all options except sling swivels, including weight of 7 -1/2 lbs and that it was sighted at 100yards. CONDITION: 90% blue with operating wear and some carry wear. Action is starting to wear to a silvery patina with carry areas worn silver. Wood has traces of varnish with dark appearance and usage marks and dings and non-factory inlays. Excellent bore and mechanics. DLM
