Half moon front sight, U notch flat top rear sight. Marked on left side of slide "PATENTED APR.20, 1897 / SEPT. 9, 1902. DEC. 19, 1905. FEB. 14, 1911 / COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. CO." and "SPRINGFIELD ARMORY / U.S.A.". Flaming bomb at rear of slide. Barrel marked "S P" on left lug. Dust cover marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" with flaming bomb above checkered magazine release. Right side of frame with serial number. "S" stamp additionally observed on grip safety, slide stop, firing pin retaining plate, and barrel bushing. Complete disassembly not completed to examine sear, disconnector, trigger bow, etc. Checkered spurred hammer, short 1911 grip safety, thin tab safety with relief mill cut, slide release with relief cut. Truncated diamond checkered walnut grips. 2 tone Springfield magazine with folded over wings and lanyard loop. CONDITION: Very good, retaining approximately half of the blue finish. Heavy silvering towards muzzle consistent with holster use, although moreso than usual. Grip straps are essentially patina. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is excellent with strong rifling. EMW
