1891 vintage 4th Model Winchester Model 1866 lever action saddle ring carbine, serial number 167828. 20" round barrel chambered in .44 Henry Rimfire with carbine flip-up ladder rear sight, full length magazine tube, and carbine front. 2-piece plain walnut stock and forearm complete with carbine buttplate with storage compartment inside (compartment is empty). CONDITION: Good overall with barrel and magazine tube turned to a dark grey patina with consistent, age-related pitting throughout. Frame is very good as heavily cleaned. Stock and forearm have been sanded and refinished and are not flush or well fitting at tangs. Stock has cracks at bottom tang, upper tang, buttplate tang, and right side near receiver. Forearm has a gouge on underside. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand and is tight. Bore is dark with heavy abrasion and visible rifling. TON
