Manufactured 1943. Serrated slope front sight, square notch flat top rear sight with P proof oriented to read barrel up. Left side of slide with 2 line 2 block patent and address information with intercepting pony. Barrel marked "COLT 45 AUTO" on lower left side of breech, "F" and "G" in front of lug. "G" on top of frame. Frame with appropriate proof marks, including "GHD" proof, ordnance crossed cannon proof with burnishing visible. Coltwood fiber grips with internal ribs and thick reinforcing rings. Spurred checkered hammer, checkered slide release, thick tab safety, magazine release. Long grip safety, arched knurled mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Short stamped trigger. Full blue magazine stamped "S" on baseplate lip and "C-S" on underside of lip. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining virtually all of the parkerized finish with some silvering towards muzzle on high edges consistent with holster wear. Legends are crisp, slide still retains the 2 tone temp line towards front. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is excellent with some very minor frosting. This is a really good example of a wartime gun. EMW
