Lot consist of: (A) Colt Model 1878 double action revolver. Made 1883. Standard 1-line barrel address visible on the top of the barrel. "45 CAL" marked on the left side of the trigger guard. 6-shot fluted cylinder. Round barrel with blade front sight and U-notch rear. Metal components have been completely refinished. Lanyard ring still present on the butt. Checkered plastic grips are later replacements. CONDITION: Metal retains 90% of its re-applied finish with some light wear and freckles of surface rust on the left side of the frame. Grips are excellent overall. Bore is clean overall with crisp strong rifling. Gun seems to be only functional in double action. Hammer will cock, but cylinder will not turn in single action. (B) Colt Police Positive Special double action revolver. Made 1923. Standard 2-line address and patent dates on the top of the barrel. Left side of the barrel is marked "POLICE/POSITIVE SPECIAL 32-20 WCF". Rampant Colt pony and "VP" proof on the left side of the frame. Matching serial numbers on the frame and crane. Round steel barrel with half-moon front sight. Original blued finish and factory checkered hard rubber grips. CONDITION: Metal retains 80% of its original finish with general wear. Grips have a few handling marks and scratches. Bore is clean with crisp rifling. Tight hammer and cylinder. Good timing and lock up. Mechanically fine. JWA
