Manufactured 1913 and in the known serial number range for having been issued to the United States Marine Corps. Half moon front sight, U notch round top rear sight. "H" stamped at top of firing pin retaining plate channel. Left side of slide with 2 line 2 block patent and address information in serif font (last patent date Feb 14, 1911), with uncircled pony at rear. Right side of slide with "MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY", also in serif font. Barrel with "T" on left lug, "5" in front of lug. "P H" stamped to be read in line with rifling. Top of frame stamped "H" and "T" near disconnector hole. Left side of dust cover marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", and Penfield proof near checkered magazine release. Right side with numero sign (No with strike under the o) prefix serial number. Small parts comprise checkered spurred hammer, short 1911 grip safety, flat mainspring housing, thin tab safety with milled undercut, checkered slide release with milled undercut, long smooth trigger, and checkered magazine release. Truncated diamond checkered walnut grips. 2 tone dual pinned base magazine with lanyard loop. Accompanied by a letter from Wayne Gagner confirming shipment to USMC. CONDITION: Very good, showing signs of heavy use that is often seen on these guns. Slide has some blue, approximately 1/3rd with balance mixing with a soft brown patina. Frame has more blue, approximately 2/3rds, mostly around trigger guard, with dust cover with just flashes of blue, and grip straps essentially patina. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is good with visible rifling and pitting in grooves. EMW
