Model 1892 Trapper manufactured by Winchester in 1925. The left side of the receiver bears a partially discernable Sante Fe Police Department stamp, appearing to read "JEFATURA/ POLICIA/ SANTE FE" followed by an additional partially illegible stamp appearing to read "CAL.45 REFORMODIME-CBA.(RA)" above "0142". The left side the barrel has been partially scrubbed towards the breech, reading ".45 LACP", indicating that this Trapper was at one point sold to Argentina and converted to .45 ACP, likely for military or police use. The barrel band features a sling swivel on the left side, with the left side of the stock retaining a fix sling loop. Other features include a blued finish, 16" barrel, full length tube magazine, saddle ring, as well as a carbine buttplate. CONDITION: Receiver retains good amounts of its blue finish, showing areas of thinning and wear all around that show through to a pleasing brown patina. Barrel retains the vast majority of its period reapplied blue finish, showing some marks from handling and storage. Bore is bright, showing some small spots of oxidation and retains fair to good rifling throughout. Wood forearm and buttstock show scattered impressions and marks from handling and storage, with the left side of the forearm exhibiting a fair size chip towards the breech. MLW
