1920 vintage Winchester Model 1892 Trapper lever action saddle ring carbine, serial number 894524. 14" round barrel chambered in .44 Winchester Centerfire with flip-up carbine ladder rear sight, full-length magazine tube, and blade front. Two-piece plain walnut stock and forearm complete with carbine buttplate. Accompanying this gun are an ATF exemption letter classifying this carbine as a Curio and Relic firearm not subject to the National Firearms Act because of its scarcity and age as well as its considerable interest among collectors as well as a factory letter stating that the serial number was applied in June 10, 1920 (per the factory letter, no other information is available for this serial number). CONDITION: Excellent, with nearly all of the original bluing remaining on barrel and magazine tube assemblies with scattered light freckling. Barrel band and frame assembly are mostly a mottled dull grey patina with original bluing in protected areas. Stock and forearm are excellent, retaining virtually all of their original finish with scattered handling marks. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand. Bore is bright with moderate abrasion toward muzzle and crisp rifling. Overall a far better than average trapper. TON
