1907 vintage Colt Single Action Army revolver, serial number 297169. 5 - 1/2" round barrel in .45 Colt with single line barrel address, blade front sight, and V-frame notch rear. Engraved with scroll on a punchdot background and starburst motifs on left and right side of gas shield as well as stop of backstrap by Texas Gun Engraver D.W. Harris. Signed on butt by Harris. Nickel-plated finish. 2-piece checkered gutta percha grips featuring a Rampant Colt in an oval on either side. Comes with a factory letter confirming serial number, caliber, and barrel length and shows shipment to Montgomery Ward & Company in Chicago, Illinois July 31, 1907 in a shipment of 2 guns. CONDITION: Good, with a strong majority of the reapplied nickel-plated finish remaining with scattered handling marks and light pitting throughout. Engraving is sharp. Grips are well worn but do not show any major cracks. Action is tight. Bore is dark with visible rifling. TON
