Manufactured 1944 as per serial number. Serrated slope front sight, square notch flat top rear sight with "P" proof in front of rear sight. Left side of slide with 2 line 2 block patent and address information with intercepting Colt pony. Barrel with "P" proof on left lug, "C" in a box on right, inverted. Large "3" stamped at top of frame bridle. Left side of frame has faint "G.H.D." proof for Drewry. Right side of frame with serial number, crossed cannon cartouche. Small parts comprise narrow checkered hammer, thick tab safety, serrated slide release, short stamped trigger, checkered magazine release, long 1911A1 grip safety, arched serrated mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Ribbed fibre grips. CONDITION: Gun is completely chromed over, with softening to legends from application. Some lifting of chrome on left side of slide with oxidation forming around grip straps. Scratches and minor handling marks visible throughout. Mechanically fine, bore is good with even darkness throughout and visible rifling. EMW
