Lot consists of: (A) Syracuse Grade III side by side shotgun made by Syracuse Arms Company under the direction of Frank Hollenbeck from 1893 to 1895. 30" damascus 12 gauge barrels with matted rib, extractors, and bead front sight. Case colored boxlock action engraved with floral design, blued floorplate engraved with "Syracuse / Syracuse Arms Co.", and fitted with double triggers and automatic safety. Walnut checkered pistol grip stock with hard rubber buttplate. Matching checkered walnut splinter forearm with friction release. CONDITION: 40% remaining original damascus finish with areas of discoloration. Action worn silver. Wood has traces of finish with usage marks and dings. Frosted shootable bore with tight mechanics. (B) W.A. Abel & Co. marked side by side shotgun made most likely by the Syracuse Arms Company circa 1900. 30" damascus steel barrels with matted rib marked "W.A. ABEL & CO. SYRACUSE NY. AMERICAN MADE", extractors and bead front sight. Case colored boxlock action with line engraving, double triggers, and automatic safety. Walnut checkered round knob pistol grip stock with matching walnut checkered splinter forearm with ebony inlay. CONDITION: 80% remaining damascus finish with 40% faded case colors. Wood has traces of varnish with handling marks and dings. Shootable bores with good mechanics. DLM
