Lot consist of: (A) British No. 3 S.R. Lee Metford bolt action sporting rifle. Made turn of the century, and most likely turned into a sporting rifle sometime after. British nitro proofs on the chamber. Birmingham proofs on the chamber and bolt as well. Left side of the socket is marked "N/NO.3.SR.". There is some engraving on the trigger guard. Round steel barrel with a blade front sight and ladder rear. Ladder elevation adjustment is loose. There are also 2 flip-up game express numbered "200" and "300" respectfully. The magazine cut-off is still on the rifle. Blued finished on the metal components looking to be original. Walnut sporting stock with checkering on the wrist and forearm. Wood has a light oil finish. Engraved metal butt plate with trapdoor. Sling studs on the barrel and buttstock. Includes a cut-down 5-round magazine. CONDITION: Metal retains 60% of its original finish with most areas forming a grey patina. There is some light surface rust on the barrel behind the rear sight. Stock has handling marks and scratches. Bore is clean overall with crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. (B) British Army & Navy Martini style single shot sporting rifle. Made turn of the century. Left side of the frame is marked "ARMY & NAVY/C.S.L. LONDON/5676". Faint British proofs on the chamber in addition to a "52". Round, steel barrel with a blade front sight. Rear ladder sight with a fixed express sight set at 100 and a flip-up for 200. Blued finish turning to a grey patina in most areas. Walnut stock and forearm with checkering on the forearm and wrist. Sling studs on the barrel and stock. Smooth metal buttplate. CONDITION: Metal retains little of its original finish with most areas forming a grey patina. Wood has a few handling marks and scratches. Forearm looks to be solid with no cracks. Bore has some frosting but rifling is strong. Seems mechanically fine. JWA
