1882 vintage Colt US Cavalry Single Action revolver, serial number 83835. 7 - 1/2" round barrel chambered in .45 Colt with single line Colt Hartford, CT barrel address, blade front sight, and frame notch rear. "D.F.C" (David F. Clark) inspector markings observed on barrel, frame, cylinder, and bottom of left grip panel. "U.S." marking on left of frame. "S.C." marking observed on butt consistent with previously seen examples that were issued to South Carolina militia units. Matching serial numbers observed on barrel, frame, trigger guard, butt, and cylinder. 1-piece plain walnut grips. CONDITION: Good, with virtually all of the original finishes turned to a dark grey patina with scattered heavy handling marks and age-related pitting throughout. Grips are well worn and heavily cleaned with handling marks throughout and are shy to the front and backstraps. Action is worn but has all four Colt clicks. Bore is frosted with visible rifling. TON
