Twin front bead and mid blade sights on a Simmons Gun Specialties serrated vent rib. Breech end of barrel has been accented with well cut scroll on a smooth ground but enhanced with a mixture of hatching and crosshatching to shade. Gold wire has also been inlaid as some legends reading "2 7/8 CHAM / MODEL 12 - 28 GA / SKEET". Tube forearm has been carved with florals on a stippled ground around a checkered panel. Receiver has been engraved by Daniel Marshall (signed in front of the carrier) in near complete coverage of scroll accented with hatch and crosshatch shading and gold wire. Right side of receiver engraved with a pair of vignettes depicting a raised relief pair of gold (rose gold?) snipes being spotted by a pointer in a meadow, separated by scroll, while left side depicts another relief pointer coming across 5 pheasant, 2 in flight and 3 still groundbound, near a fence. Underside of receiver with Marshall's signature "DANIEL B. MARSHALL ENGRAVER / HAZLETON, PA". Serial number and "SKEET" inlaid in gold wire. Trigger guard with raised relief gold dog. Pistol grip cap with gold wire border and gold wire inlay "MOD-12-WIN PRESENTATION". Nicely figured stock with pistol grip checkered and accented by florals on a stippled ground en suite with forearm. Monte Carlo shadowline cheekpiece. Winchester checkered hard rubber buttplate. Housed in a custom walnut case with a business card taped to the front for Charles Syak, with gun information on front. CONDITION: Excellent as custom embellished. Retains virtually all of the blued finish and wirework with crisp engraving. Some very minor marks from handling and use, including some minor silvering to the magazine tube from contact with forearm. There are a few infinitesimal pits on the magazine tube near receiver. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is excellent, bright, and shiny. Case is very good with some marks from storage and use throughout. This is a wonderful custom 28 gauge Model 12.
