National Postal Meter M1 Carbine semi automatic rifle. Made early 1944. Barrel is IBM marked and has no date. There is a Blue Sky import mark on the left side of the barrel. Adjustable rear sight is Inland marked. Front sight is Postal Meter production. Band/bayonet lug is marked with a diamond in a "D". Inland marked M2 style slide. Bolt is Rockola. Postal Meter trigger housing. Stock lug is Standard Products marked. M2 "Pot Belly" stock lacks makers marks, as does the hand guard. There is a "P" firing proof on the wrist. Metal components have their original parkerized finish. The stock has a light oil finish. Includes a 15 round Saginaw production blued steel magazine and an oiler. CONDITION: Metal retains 75% of its original parkerized finish with general wear. Stock has a few dings and scratches. Bore is shiny with crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. Magazine is excellent. JWA
