As new in box Model 1885 single shot rifle manufactured by Browning in 1997. The left side of the barrel bears stamps stipulating the manufacturer information, with the right side bearing stamps indicating the model and caliber designations. Features include a blue finish, 28" octagon barrel, dovetailed front sight, semi-buckhorn rear sight, flip up tangent rear sight, as well as a multi-point checkered wood forearm and buttstock. Front and rear sling swivels retain their original factory "SUPER SWIVELS" tags. Rifle is accompanied by its original factory box, styrofoam insert, and manual. CONDITION: As new, showing few indications of handling over overall. Metal components retain virtually all of their original factory blue finish. Mirror bore, appearing to not have been fired since leaving the factory and exhibiting well defined lands and grooves throughout. Wood furniture is excellent and retains sharp checkering overall. Original factory box shows some light superficial marks and a few small dings from handling and storage with a crease on one corner. An excellent as new in box Browning Model 1885 single shot rifle that would be difficult for an astute collector to upgrade from. MLW
