Manufactured 1913. Half moon front with U notch round top rear sight. Left side of slide with 2 line 2 block patent and address information in serif font, with uncircled pony at rear. Right side with "MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY" in serif font. "H" stamped appropriately at top of firing pin retaining plate channel, barrel with "H" stamp perpendicular to bore on chamber. "H" and "6" stamped on top of frame near disconnector hole. Left side of dust cover with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" rollmark in serif font, and Penfield proof above magazine release. Right side of frame with serial number. Checkered spurred hammer, thin tab safety with relief cut, checkered slide release with relief cut, short grip safety, checkered magazine release, long smooth trigger, smooth flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Truncated diamond walnut grips. 2 tone magazine with lanyard loop. CONDITION: Very good, retaining well over half of the Colt bluing with most losses to high edges and slide consistent with holster wear. Slide has much chocolate patina but legends are legible and plenty of blue still present. Frame is very good with some scattered losses consistent with use, straps are essentially patina. Action works appropriately, bore is very good with strong rifling and even light frosting. This is a very good example. EMW
